Saving A Bestfriend over a Lover

Why Save a Best Friend when you have a lover? A lover, assuming that it to be true, is a person one can and should be devoted to without exception. The reason for this is that a lover tends to become one with the person in question. They, almost literally, spend every waking moment together; a personal sacrifice one must give in order for the relationship to stand. This personal devotion stems from the book of genesis as the woman and man are one in the name of God’s blessings. Therefore, the love between a man and woman, considering that love is a relationship, is that of God’s love towards mankind directed into one person. Because of God’s relationship with man as that of mutual understanding, then that mutual understanding must be devoted into a person that manifests God’s love in the view of the observer. If every person indeed is the image and likeness of God, then the person one must love is the epitome of God’s image in a person, therefore giving man a chance to express his love for God in a more physical manner.

Frustration in Choice

      A best friend is someone who showed his or her worth to be our right hand. He will always be there in our time of need, and will not hesitate to defend you. In all of our success and failures, he will be by our side without doubts. Our life will be incomplete without our best friend. Throughout our problems and happiness, this one friend, has stood strong for our own sake. And yet, we will always come across our lover. The one person who eventually becomes the person we are willing to spend the rest of our life with, the missing piece in our everlasting search for happiness. A lover can mean anything; the one, or perhaps, a devotion to a Divine Being. This lover is the person who will stay by our side “‘till death do us part.”

      The one question, however, that stands is: who is more important to my life, a best friend or a lover? Let’s give a scenario. If I am stranded on a boat with my best friend and my lover as companions, and the only way for me to survive is by risking the life of one of the two, who will I save?

      It’s hard to choose between a best friend and a lover. We all have experienced the greatness of life with both of them. We share our success and failure with them. Sadly, there are times when we have to risk one of them. Our life is not perfect; it’s a failure by design. Given such situation, I would choose to save my lover. Many people would argue that the best friend is far important compare to the lover. I beg to differ. In such a case, a best friend will offer himself up despite my own rejection of his choice. In the same way, my lover will do as my best friend tries. The weight of their significance in my life is too big to simply dump; however, this lover is the one person I would devote my life. In my view, a man and his lover is one. A best friend should not stand in between them because no man has the right to break them off. The greatest sacrifice a person can do is to sacrifice his own friend. The greatest friend we ever had gave up his life for our sake.

      The reason I still stand that saving my lover is the better act is my love for her. This love is completely different from the platonic love lingering between me and my best friend. This romantic love sorts of defies all the physics in nature. She becomes an inspiration to live everyday and end it with a good notion. Through arguments and fights, this lover will always be the person I will want to spend the rest of my life with. Falling in love is one of the peculiar aspects of nature. It just comes without warning. This feeling towards a lover can be powerful for its peaceful and destructive nature.

      One cannot replace either one if either passes away, but they will always be a memory of our life.

Bestfriend vs. Boyfriend

              If I were in a sinking ship, i'd probably save my bestfriend. First of all, the bond shared between bestfriends is different compared to the one shared by boyfriends. The friendship between bestfriends take years to nurture while the "intimacy and bond" of between boyfriends usually are of shorter periods of time. And at times of trouble, there are things that can be solved with your bestfriend that your boyfriend cannot handle. Plus, when you guys break up, to who do you run to? It's always the bestfriend that picks up the pieces that the boyfriend broke and left behind. I honestly believe that a person can function without a boyfriend but cannot live without a bestfriend. Some people even function without a love life because they choose another path in life like the choosing to live in single blessedness. It is so much harder to replace a bestfriend than replacing a boyfriend. Honestly. Like for me, I depend so much on my bestfriend. I treat them like my happy pills when I feel down or sad. I can honestly say that I wouldn't be where I am now without people like them. Now, the bestfriend was a part of most of your life and was there in good times and in bad times. Boyfriend- Girlfriend relationships are just in the misc. section. One can really learn to live without them and direct their love to something else. But the friendship that one gets from a bestfriend is different and something that is hard to replace. :) So yes, i'll save my bestfriend.

Footnotes For Rhozy (From A Dear Friend)

The world is really turning into chaos. Sometimes, we don’t even know what is happening anymore. We do things we don’t mean to do and things we never expected happen to us. And to be honest, I just don’t know what to do anymore with all the bad things happening. So first of all I would have to apologize when I do not act when I should have; that I don’t always listen or say the things that you either want to or need to hear. I’m sorry that it seems like we’re not as close as before. We can work on that. I’ve learned that with all these bad things happening, there’s one thing that I can do no matter what happens. I can hope, and that’s probably why people see me as a very cheerful person even though I’m not. So I think you should learn to hope also, and act based on hope. I’m not saying that being hopeful that something is going to happen you act thinking that it’s going to happen. I’m saying that you don’t feel down. You let yourself feel at peace thinking it could go two ways and if it doesn’t go the way you want, it matters less. What matters more is that you’re still alive. While alive you can do so many things. Now I know that you know this but the thing is that we pass by life so quickly that we fail to notice even the most obvious of things. I just want you to remember that it shouldn’t take the throwing of a brick or a slap in the face to remember to slow down. 

Another thing I would like you to know is that you are smart, beautiful and a very capable girl or soon to be woman. As your symbolic dad, I only have one thing for you to do and that is to never deny the 1st statement of this paragraph. It is true and you should never doubt your capabilities when you really need to do something. Normally, when I know I need something done, I push myself beyond despair. I try to make myself believe that I can do it, and I will keep doing it no matter what but my work will never be able to satisfy me if I didn’t do it while not believing. I keep saying, we’ll see, we’ll see and it’s just so darn annoying. When you have something to do, FAITH AND BELIEF are already 50 percent! The rest is just making it happen. 

Another thing, I know that you really feel bad ‘cause you’ve lost a lot of friends and you’re not always surrounded by people you’re okay with. Just live through it. You are independent and very capable. You’ll live.  And you don’t need a large group of friends at all to get through life. You only need up to a select few whom you know won’t abandon you at all. Kata’s one of the best examples I’ve seen so far. Randall’s near her stand point too. Plus you’ve got me. I will do whatever I can and even whatever I can’t I’ll still try anyway. People say that it’s wasted effort if you just do something but you know you’re gonna fail anyway. That’s only half correct. It is true but then there’s the experience and the idea that you didn’t give up. That’s something to be proud of. 

Now I did not start writing just tonight. NO WAY! I would never do that. I started a lot earlier and I just wanted to make this letter really personal. I also want you to cry. All this is really coming out of my heart and this is really the way I feel. I told you to trust me because when you were talking to me that was when I was making this part. I don’t want you to expect anything from me. I might not be able to live up to it. I just want you to hope that I did do this. Now when it comes to your retreat, you better tell me! I will still write another one but since you don’t get to go tomorrow, at least you’ll still be able to read this. I think we don’t say this enough but yeah, we are friends, close friends. Never forget that. I always wanna take care of my friends. I will always do whatever I can to make you feel better Rhozy. You can count on that. I want you to, for tomorrow/today, whichever day you read this, just relax. Do something that calms you down. That you wanna do. Talk to me if you want, cuss, shout, do something crazy! Do something that is a sign that you are alive and that you still have a chance to live even though things don’t go as planned. You’re alive, you’re smart, you’re capable, and you’re definitely attractive. Here’s the thing, most guys are attracted to hot girls, but most of those guys don’t go out with them. You’re pretty already, no need to be hot ha ha ha. 

Now I don’t want to say anymore because I might not be able to say anything for your actual retreat letter and I don’t want you to read something too long. Just relax, I’m always here for you, we are always here for you.  What I said here, I normally say it again and again, but I never explain why. It’s something for anyone to think about ;). But anyway, have faith Rhozy, just have faith, not necessarily in God, but in YOURSELF and your FRIENDS. :D Ask and you shall receive…what you need. 
