"ArrozCaldoForTheHeart"Arroz caldo is a hearty Filipino congee/"lugaw" and topped with crunchy fried garlic. The result is a quick, comforting bowl that's a perfect rainy time meal (and rivals chicken soup for its ability to sooth those suffering from a cold). Like this famous blend of culture dish, this blog aims to share Christian Living inputs such as insights or opinions, original stories and the like from the compilations of the projects of his students for the past decade. May these readings sooth the sunken soul, tired heart and stressed body.

"SILENT LOVE"

by: Angelo BUENCAMINO, 9C

I am not sure where to begin it all just happened so fast. Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage. We love life, not because we are used to living but because we are used to loving. It started out with a new seat plan in class I didn’t want to leave my old seatmates since we were all good friends, but then again God said there is a reason for everything so I allowed him to let me meet new people. I was seated behind this lovely girl, she does not talk much she was rather silent although I knew she was kind hearted. Several days went by and we slowly started to get to know each other we started out being cheat mates I know it’s wrong but then I realized we are only allowed to cheat our tests but not our feelings.

I started liking her and I had a feeling she started liking me back too, but we would never confess that we liked each other, that’s why the title is Silent love, for love does not need to spoken but only to be given and felt by one another. And that’s what we did. She is very shy and petite and conservative so I respect her so much for that. We hanged out every lunch break and recess I remember her favorite thing to buy was the roast beef in the canteen always take out because we enjoyed walking around the field. We treated each other like were just special friends, doing small deeds for each other like helping her with her stuff and telling each other jokes. It was full of laughter and sincerity.

After high school we landed in different colleges I went to Ateneo and she went to La Salle, but I learned distance is just distance when there is true love. During the weekends we would meet each other in Makati we’d go on dates and off course I was always the one paying because she’s the girl.. We got married after college for we are both Catholic and God is always here for us, and we wanted God to nourish us with his unending love and compassion for us both. Years went by and we still go to church every Sunday for we pay respect for our religion and our Eucharist for it is something essential for me and for her. Even when were older we would not confess our love for it was silent, we both knew we had it and that we love each other thru God. And that’s what truly matters when you have God watching over us, and each other for Marriage.

  4. Really nice and sweet. It's like embracing rebel love in each other. I mean a silent love is like "trying to speak something but you can't face it". It has the final confession and most of all. Really a good feel.

  5. His story is nice and moving. It is very inspiring and I inderstood the message. He wrote it properly and the execution of the story was good. I learned that love is love. Love can be anything. It does not have to be loud, it can be discrete and secretive. It is a good story and it makes sense and is relatable.

I really enjoyed the subtle hints as to who the female in question is.
It was very enjoyable to see the "prediction" Angelo Buencamino had about the future of him and this girl of his. It was a nice touch on how he and the female shared and knew of each other's affection for one another yet, they did not say it to each other. And it also shows a good lesson that, love need not be told to one another to be shared. All in all, it was very enjoyable and i thought well of it. Best wishes to you Angelo!

  8. Pul ona 9-C Great job Angelo! Liked the essence of the story alot! Gave a really "slice of life feeling" from modern school and a drop of fiction. Good plot succession also. Generalized yet indulgent! Awesome how you made a good plot in a short story. Great lesson here and great plot to follow! Keep up the good work!

  9. There are a couple of grammatical errors and it's quite short but it's okay since everything in the story is clear. The story is cute and the girl is described well. It's very much relevant to relationships and it seems quite real. It was portrayed well and written nicely.

  11. Great story and mysterious girl in your story. In both of your stories you and Eon, you guys didn't identify the girl. But you described her in a very nice way. This will inspire many young lovers to pick the right person in life. Narrated and said in a simple but sweet way.

  12. Seems life-based 😉. Good old seatmates we were, sad that we were separated but it was a good thing that you were able to meet the girl you love 😘. Cute how you know what she likes🍛. Amazing how you still were able to communicate despite the fact that you were in different colleges. Nice how you were able to keep a strong relationship after all those years 👌. Regina Atienza, 9C✨

The story is so realistic and it's really cute the way how everything was described. This story really taught me that love knows no boundaries, because not even the distance mattered. It's really nice how in everything they do, God is part of it. The way he showed his love for her was really great. Even though it was short, it was good.

This story hit me right in the feels. It shows that even thought you dont admit your feelings, its about the actions. Then, eventually, when time comes, you would admit your love for each other.

  28. I really really really liked this story because it shows how God's role in marriage/ love is very essential. I also liked this story because it shows the patience one has to have when commiting themselves to someone for the rest of their lives. Lastly, I liked this story because it shows that you should accept whatever problems that may be thrown at you. Because if you pull through in the end, you'll know that the person who was standing with you all that time you were struggling was the one.

  30. this story has a different way of telling the story. not saying it's bad or something. it is still a very nice story. being very realistic because of the part of being silent. it also shows god's role in love. he plans it to get you fall in love anywhere.

  31. The story was short and simple but also sweet. It's showed that love isn't always about grand gestures but about the little things that reassure you of the way that person feels.

  32. Who is the girl you are talking about Angelo? What I can say is that my mouth and eyes were open all throughout the story for it was very interesting. The concept was well thought of. The thought of "Silent Love". That you would show love through actions and not through saying it. Like the saying "action speaks louder than words" it was very captivating. The way you described your future was very realistic and very heart warming. Even if in the start it said that you didnt want to change seats or have new seatmates, it was DESTINY in which God planned. WELL DONE! - James Allas 9F

  41. Adorable <3 it goes to show that toward different people we have different feelings and we should find the right one to treat them right. The story explains how to one another we should treat each other in a way we cannot be away from each other. The simple express of love to someone can be the best gift ever :) love is something that makes you change yourself for someone. But in time you must accept that the person should accept you for who YOU are and not how YOU change for THEM.

  44. "We love life not because we are used to living but because we are used to loving." I think that is one of the quotes in this story that struck me the most. I believe that the quote just shows what love can do to our lives also how love + life affect each other.
